Hot Rolled Steel Plate Production Line
The production process of hot-rolled steel plates mainly involves the following steps:
Steelmaking: Crude iron and scrap steel are heated to a suitable temperature and undergo necessary processes such as slag removal, decarburization, and dephosphorization to obtain the desired steel billets.
Raw Material Preparation and Heating: Raw materials, such as steel billets, ingots, or continuous casting slabs, are fed into a heating furnace. They are heated to an appropriate temperature for hot rolling, typically exceeding 1100°C. This process makes the raw materials softer and easier to shape. Additionally, surface treatments like rust removal and oxide removal may be conducted during this stage.
Rough Rolling: The heated metal billets are sent to the rolling mill and undergo initial rolling through the roughing mill group. This stage mainly reduces the thickness of the billets rather than altering their width. The billets undergo repeated rolling between each rolling unit to gradually achieve the desired thickness.
Intermediate Rolling: After rough rolling, the billets are transferred to the intermediate rolling mill for further rolling. The intermediate mill consists of multiple rolls and is designed to further reduce the thickness of the billets and increase their width.
Finish Rolling: The billets are then sent to the finish rolling mill, typically consisting of even more rolls. This stage reduces the thickness further and ensures a smoother surface on the steel plates. The finish rolling process requires precise control to meet the final product's dimensional and surface quality requirements.
Cooling: After exiting the rolling mill, the steel plates undergo controlled cooling. This can be achieved through various methods such as water spraying, air cooling, or specialized cooling techniques. Cooling helps prevent overheating and deformation of the steel plates.
Cutting to Length and Leveling: Once cooled, the steel plates are cut to specific lengths according to order requirements. Subsequently, they are sent to a leveling machine for surface finishing, ensuring a smooth and uniform surface.
